I'm going to double up on what the previous commenter said re: orthotics: get some. superfeet are widely available and were recommended to me by my ankle surgeon. I don't run for exercise any more after going through 2 reconstructive ankle surgeries, if foot pain is an issue I recommend swimming and cycling.

If you do want to stick to running, making a conscious effort to take shorter strides and minimize the pounding stride that modern running shoes enable is the way to go. That's what the big fad in 'barefoot' running that's going on right now is all about... Turns out our bodies didn't evolve to take that kind of impact through our feet and legs. Not surprising once you stop to think about it.

Foot pain should not be ignored. It could be as simple as needing a better shoe or as bad as causing permanent damage. I've developed a terrible case of Plantar Fascitis myself and am to the point of having to wear splints on my feet all night. Whatever you do, do not ignore this particular pain.

1) Never walk barefoot, even in the house.
2) Get very good support shoes. If you have to wear a sandal, get support sandals. Doctors will say always wear good support shoes though.
3) Go to Body and Sole to get them to pick a shoe for you. You might want an orthodic insert as well. They have good ones and the people there are knowledgeable. The other possible place is Heel to Toe. Two doctors have recommended Body and Sole to me. People who are putting more weight on their shoes need different shoes than someone who is skinny.
4) Get a tennis ball, or some other sort of small ball and rub your foot on it to stretch out the tendon.
5) Stretch your Achilles, calf, and foot very well and often.
6) Alternate Ice and heat.
7) Are your shoes worn out? Running shoes shouldn't be worn more than 300 hours of running max, and that becomes less for larger runners due to the amount of abuse runners put the shoes through.

I think the idea of "Atheist Temples" is good in principle, but it would be better to call them
Atheist Community Centers.

You are right Brian. There are a lot of run on sentences and other grammar issues. Especially in this post. The uncorrected comments I quote also add to the confusion. I was trying to give a feeling of writing in white hot heat. That wasn't your response. I appreciate your offer. The issue is not that I can't edit. I am a trained writer and editor of some 15 years. I chose the style. Now I hear it was ineffective and will choose another. Thanks for the input!

Jim,
I don't know who you are, but I'm interested to read the things you have to say - but you need to learn to edit your writing, and to use punctuation. I'm really sorry to have to tell you this. I left my for-real email address, and I'm willing to offer my editing services to you, free of charge. Honest. Just send me a draft of your post and I'll mark it up for you. Stuff like this:

"It’s true once I think of it I have been told I would be damned before but maybe I am so used to knowing it by being around so many Christians that it has lost its effect."

and this:

"Though a myopic view of Islam, Judeo-Christianity also has a twisted, nonbiblical view of nudity (there is no biblical admonition against public nudity) this is a popular expression of her rights."

just loses me. Seriously, I was interested in this topic, but I stopped reading after that. You lost me through using sentences that don't make sense on the most basic level - grammar. I have no idea what you meant to communicate through either of those sentences. I'm sure there was a very relevant thought in your head, but it didn't make it out through your hands and into the written word.

Please don`t take this the wrong way. It's meant as constructive criticism, and I was being absolutely sincere when I offered to edit for you.

I don't think it is right to say absurd things about someone who want to choose his/her future career
what Golshifteh is doing is her life and her feelings, although it may hurt some people here in Iran, but this is their attitude towards life and it is wrong. every one is free to do whatever he/she want to do.For Iranian people a country is like a big family and someone pop up to have a nude pic is really hurting them... DO NOT BE ANGRY AND DO NOT CARE... bye.
