Home schooling should require the same testing as regular schools to continue. There needs to be an agreed upon level for each grade, including science standards. I've said it before and will be sure to repeat it many times, children are not property, they are future adults and as such have the right to all available opportunities that can be provided no matter what their parents choose to believe. It is not anti-religious to teach children fact based subjects - we don't hear an out cry over algebra - if it conflicts with a belief system the parents job is to explain it, not try to avoid it, preventing children from any chance to have a future in any of the many fields of science, including those that work with technology.
That said, I don't think I could home school, two weeks for a tonsillectomy and adenoid surgery proved a bit much for me.
