Johnny Depp’s new song is “Jesus Stag Night Club.” (lyrics below)
HOLLYWOOD favourite Johnny Depp’s bid for Christmas chart success has caused a religious storm.
It tells the tale of a boozing, stolen car-driving Jesus look-alike who gets his kicks at lap-dancing clubs. Furious religious groups have demanded the song be banned from the air-waves.
I could not find the song on Amazon but I did find it on Amazon UK. Sadly, the bastards won’t even let me buy it. However, I was able to get it on iTunes.

Depp has teamed up with band Babybird to record the tune. Lee Douglas, spokesman for the religious pressure group The Christian Coalition, lashed Depp for his “blasphemy”.
Blasphemy is a victimless crime. If something is blasphemous – I want it and I want to tell you all about it!
“One day, Johnny Depp and his cronies will face the judgment of our Lord and they will burn in hell for this filth.” The Focus on the Family campaign group also ripped into Depp over the “appalling” song. A spokesman said: “We are sickened by Mr Depp’s behaviour. Why did he need to record this song?
He will not face your “lord” he is not real.
Depp, 48, who helped to finance their pop comeback, is said to be “not concerned” about the controversy. Babybird frontman Stephen Jones, 49, said: “Some people have no sense of humour.”

The truth is in the details, no microscopes needed. As even a child knows, for something to be true, you need at *minimum,* consistency. You don’t have that. If the fundie doesn’t get a whack when they stick their head up and pretend their beliefs can withstand reasoned examination, then how are they going to learn? Mexi probably thought his beliefs were defensible upon their merits when he came in here, now everyone knows they are not. Fundies will say that they don’t care that their beliefs aren’t defensible, but that is only a last resort, a reflexive twitch they they toss out after they have been flattened. Fundies do care and do wish they had reasonable beliefs that could withstand examination. Look how desperately Mexi has struggled to defend his claims and patch something together that could be believable by readers. All to no avail.

I was working on my presentation tomorrow about Mexseiko’s apologetics and came across this Ingersoll quote. Thought I would share it:

A few things Jesus didn’t know:
He didn’t know that his disciples would die before his second coming. Matt. 16:28.
He didn’t know that the mustard seed is not the “smallest of all seeds.” Matt. 13:32.
He didn’t know that salt doesn’t “lose its savour”. Matt. 5:13
He didn’t know that hypocrisy is unbecoming when he said that whoever calls somebody a “fool” shall be in danger of hell fire (Matt. 5:22) but later called people “fools” (Matt. 23:17).
He didn’t know when the end would be (Mark 13:32). Such ignorance is perfectly acceptable for a man but hardly to be expected from a supposed God.

Many of these events were prophesied. The death of Messiah was prophesied. His death was required for salvation. His death is an offering illustrated in the Ark of the Covenant. The death of Jesus is an offering for our salvation, a demonstration of love.

I’m a simple uneducated man. The Bible does not differ from historical record regarding the people and the land of Israel. Darrel needs to disconnect the people from the and by sating they’re not the real Jews. But I say even if they weren’t, heck, there they are. The Bible is inerrant to me, but even if you show me that Matthew said two donkeys and others said one, the consensus is that Jesus entered Jerusalem riding a donkey and was proclaimed king as prophesied and executed by the end of the week by the people who acclaimed Him.
Everything was prophesied. Regardless of when Daniel was written, it was translated about 200 years before Christ, or if we want to go by Darrel’s data, 167AD. The importance of this particular year is that if you buy that Daniel was written by this date, it couldn’t have prophecies Antiochus Epiphanes’ desecration of the Jewish Temple, which would’ve been too detailed.
Now, today, we have Ezekiel 37 fulfilled in 1947 or 48 (details). The importance of that is that Ezekiel 38 requires the fulfillment of 37. Other words: 38 (A coalition attack on Israel lead by Russia with prominence of Iran) since there hasn’t been an Israel for 1,812 years, would not make sense if there wasn’t an Israel to kick around. But since Israel (Ezekiel 37) was fulfilled, the eventual fulfillment of 38 is at hand, and judging from the political atmosphere and landscape of today, the possibilities of nearness seems ominous.
Either way, you must admit that the possibilities of you embracing the wrong faith are immense.

If I was to charge that you had taken something (never mind everything) out of context, I would give examples, provide the necessary context and then show how your failing to provide the context changed the meaning. That’s what it means to “take something out of context.” You need to show that I have done this. You have work to do. You need to:
a) provide the context that can change two donkeys into one.
b) provide the context that can make five different rules about divorce into one consistent rule.
c) provide the context that changes Israel “shall rise no more” into Israel “shall rise again.”
d) provide the context that allows a God to kill children for the sins of their ancestors while at the same time being against punishing children for the sins of their ancestors.
e) provide the context that allows “No signs shall be given to this generation,” to be consistent with… many signs were given to that generation.
f) provide the context that allows a soul and a busy afterlife to be consistent with: “there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.”
Now I am going to go and do something useful. You have work to do. Get to it.

I stated that Ezekiel 37 was fulfilled in 1947-48. Obviously, now we wait for Ezekiel 38 when Russia heads a coalition of Islamic countries, featuring Iran.
Putin has issued a warning (threat) of catastrophic proportions if Iran and Syria are attacked. Israel said they will not advice the US of if and when they’ll attack. Ezekiel 38 describes a direct attack from Russia straight into Israel and, unfortunately, doesn’t show any intervention from any other country, but God Himself in Ezekiel 39. Check it out.
I say unfortunately because Ezekiel 38 talks about judgment on a people living in the isles. That could mean US for not coming to her defence. Christendom has been surprised that God hasn’t judged US yet even after 55 million abortions and other abominations. This could be it, though. If we serve no purpose, we’re finished here.

The Scripture says that this prophesy will occur in the latter days and that its fulfillment is with the specific purpose of a testimony about God (v.17).
