Sam’s Club Bans The Brick Bible

via the Brick Testament.

I have just been informed that Sam’s Club is pulling The Brick Bible from the shelves of all of their retail locations nationwide due to the complaints of a handful of people that it is vulgar and violent. This despite the book containing only straightforward illustrations of Bible stories using direct quotes from scripture.

It appears that Sam’s Club sees the violence inherent in the bible.

Here is a sample of from Exodus…

Exodus 4:24 – gOd shows up to kill Moses – he is pissed.

Exodus 4:25 – Zipporah (Moses wife), takes a flint knife and cuts off her sons’s foreskin. (ouch!)

Exodus 4:25 -  She rubbed on Moses’s feet and said, ‘You are my blood-bridegroom!’

Exodus 4:26 – So he let him go.

So!  If gOd shows up to kick your ass, find some foreskin!

I’m sure someone just thought it was a “cute” legos story not realizing it was going to have the real thing in it. What they probably wanted was a children’s friendly story.

My little sister had a children’s bible and it was heavily sanitized to only have happy parts in it, and pictures of Jesus looking happy and friendly.

Another example how Christians don’t know what’s in their book. I’m reading the Old Testament right now and currently in 2 Samuel — it’s 360 degrees of crazy.

    @ Andrew,
If christians read the bible then most of them would not be christians ;)
