State Of The Blog – Open Comments
Skeptic Money has been going strong for 8 months and I have learned quite a bit.
Spam
The most amazing thing is how much spam a blog gets - yikes! Since the spam software was installed it has blocked about 45,000 pieces of spam.
Views
The first post back in December was about our need to give money to help others. Back then I was excited to have even a few readers. A few month later I was very excited when more than 100 people viewed the site in one 24 hour period. Today the blog gets 200 – 400 views on a slow day and some posts seem to catch on and bring in a lot of traffic. The biggest day so far is when PZ Myers linked to my story about the 1 year anniversary of our trip to the creation “museum”. That day Skeptic Money had over 4,000 views. I don’t know if it will continue to grow but, I hope that some visitors have found it entertaining or useful.
Writing
Finding something worth saying is harder than I thought. Often I don’t have time to write a long and clever post. It is something I need to work on and I hope to get better with time. Recently, Skeptic Money had it’s first guest blogger. Patty Guzikowski did a great piece titled, “In Search of the Elusive “Atheist Counselor””. What a great post. I hope to have more from Patty soon.
I am looking for another person or two that can help add some extra content. If you would like to write for a blog, I would love to hear from you. You could post on almost anything you want in the skeptic / atheist world. Just one or two posts a month would be a real help. I hope this would give me more time to do “money” posts. They take more time to write up. So just send me an e-mail if you would like to be a blogger!
Comments
I would love to have more comments from those that stop in and read the posts or watch the videos. So pop in and say HI. I would love to hear from you. If you have some ideas on how to make this blog better just put it in the comments below.

I read the posts! Don’t usually watch the videos, though. I tend to skim pretty quickly through my list of things I read on the internet.
Thank you for putting in the effort. It’s great to see more skeptical and atheist blogs.
I think your strength is money/economics post. You don’t have to do investment posts. I understand the problems with those. But posts on scams, and basic economics from a skeptical prospective would be very helpful.
You’re also welcome to link to my blog. I’ll make sure that I’m linked to yours.
With all the blogs I have in my RSS reader I’ve been lazier on actually going to sites to comment. I might not stop in to blather as often, but your blog is one of my daily reads on RSS.
